On Sunday (April 16), Gujarat Titans (GT) will clash with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 23rd match of IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Currently, the Royals are in the top spot on the points table with three victories in four matches. In their last match against Chennai Super Kings, they won the toss and batted first, eventually posting a solid total of 175 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Jos Buttler, who has been in excellent form this season, scored yet another half-century, while Hetmyer played a crucial role in the end by scoring 30 runs off 18 balls. During their chase, CSK lost two wickets in the middle overs, which hindered their progress. They managed to score 172 runs for the loss of six wickets and lost the match by a close margin of three runs.
The Gujarat Titans have also won three of their four games so far and are placed third in the points table. In their previous match, they defeated the Punjab Kings, who managed to score just 153 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs, with none of their batters able to score more than 40 runs. Mohit Sharma was the pick of the Titans’ bowlers, taking two wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs. In response, the Titans got off to a solid start with Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill scoring 56 runs in the powerplay. In the end, the Titans needed seven runs off the last six deliveries, and Rahul Tewatia hit a four on the penultimate delivery to secure the victory for his team.
