Following the success of the MrBeast tournament, Kai Cenat is next in line to collaborate with Fortnite. He was crowned the most subscribed Twitch streamer in October 2022 and won the Streamer of the Year at the Streamy Awards 2022.

Suffice to say, it was just a matter of time before he collaborated with Epic Games in some capacity. In a late-night stream, he revealed that he’d be collaborating with the Battle Royale game in the form of a tournament.

Kai Cenat takes the internet by storm after announcing surprise collaboration with Fortnite

Similar to the tournament held by MrBeast, this will likely be conducted in Creative Mode. This means that it’ll be open to all, and players will be allowed to participate irrespective of their “hype” ranking. Here’s what he had to say on the livestream:

“Kai Cenat’s Fortnite Mafia Showdown: meaning that Fortnite is allowing us to run our own tournament. Okay? They came up to me and said, ‘You want to do this tournament together?’ Alright, cool, fire!”

Despite making the announcement and revealing the name, not much else has been disclosed. This means that the tournament is still in the early stages, and Kai Cenat has just got the greenlight to go ahead with things. He reiterated the same on the livestream by saying:

“I don’t know if I can announce anything else that’s going on or not? I’m not sure, but there are supposed to be a lot of good people involved. Yeah, it’s going to be fire though. There’s a prize pool and everything. Shout out to the people at Fortnite. Love y’all.”

Based on the information gathered thus far, there will be a prize pool. Unlike the MrBeast tournament, this means that more players will be eligible to win some of the prize money rather than walking away empty handed.

When will Kai Cenat’s Fortnite Mafia Showdown take place?

Kai Cenat will be collaborating with Fortnite in the near future! He will be hosting his own tournament called “Kai Cenat’s Fortnite Mafia Showdown” with a prize pool for all players! twitter.com/HYPEX/status/1…

Since the collaboration was announced just a while ago, it’s unlikely to happen this year or early 2023. By all accounts, the tournament should take place sometime towards the end of the current season. However, this all depends on how fast things are organized and put together.

With Epic Games requiring some guidelines to be implemented, things may take some time. In all probability, it should take place sometime in March or perhaps during the opening weeks of Chapter 4 Season 2. More information about the same should become available after the new year begins.

Will Kai Cenat get an Icon Series skin?

@HYPEX Huge W Glad to see fortnite collabing with other creators outside of the usual fortnite ones ?

Given his popularity on social media and among the demographics that play Fortnite, there’s a good chance of Kai getting an Icon Series skin. Considering that MrBeast, who is also a content creator and YouTuber, recently became an Icon Series skin in-game, there’s no reason why Kai Cenat can’t.

With all that being said, there’s no way to say for certain what will happen. With Winterfest 2022 still in full swing, there’s a lot of time left for anything to come to fruition. However, knowing how Epic Games functions in terms of marketing based on hype, an Icon Series skin or, at the very least, collaborative cosmetics are most definitely in the works.
