Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continued their poor form in IPL 2023 as they failed to chase down a low total of 127 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their match on Monday. LSG suffered a disastrous start, losing their top five batsmen within the first seven overs. Although Krishnappa Gowtham tried to revive the innings, LSG were eventually all out for 108 in 19.5 overs, losing the game by 18 runs. Earlier, RCB’s Amit Mishra and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each, while Naveen-ul-Haq claimed three, limiting LSG to 126/9 in their 20 overs. Faf du Plessis played a crucial role in RCB’s victory with his knock of 44 off 40 balls, earning him the Orange Cap.
LSG also faced a major setback when their skipper, KL Rahul, limped off the field in the second over after chasing a ball towards the cover fence. Although Rahul did return to bat, he refused to take easy singles, suggesting that his injury could be serious. Meanwhile, RCB captain Virat Kohli had a tense moment with Naveen-ul-Haq during the game and exchanged some words with LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir after the match.
