In an intense match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC), CSK overcame early troubles on a slow pitch to reach a respectable total of 167/8 in their 20 overs. DC faced similar challenges but failed to recover, ultimately losing the match by 27 runs.

DC faced setbacks early on as David Warner and Phil Salt were dismissed quickly, while Mitchell Marsh fell victim to a mix-up with Manish Pandey. Pandey and Rilee Rossouw attempted to build a partnership, but their slow progress increased the required run rate for DC. Pandey scored 27 off 29 balls before getting out, and Rossouw contributed 35 off 37 balls. Unfortunately, their partnership consumed 59 balls but yielded only as many runs. DC ended up with a limited score of 140/8, keeping them at the bottom of the table.

Earlier in the innings, CSK found themselves struggling at 77/4 after 11 overs on the sluggish pitch. However, MS Dhoni’s explosive 20 runs off nine balls, coupled with Ravindra Jadeja’s 38-run partnership in just 18 balls for the seventh wicket, revived CSK’s innings. Shivam Dube also played a crucial role, scoring 25 runs off 12 balls. The CSK top order faced challenges from Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lalit Yadav’s spin, but Mitchell Marsh’s impressive final over, conceding only seven runs and taking two wickets, resulted in figures of 3/18.

Overall, CSK’s late resurgence led them to a competitive total, while DC struggled to keep up, resulting in a convincing victory for Chennai.
