In a thrilling encounter at Dharamshala on Friday, Rajasthan Royals emerged victorious against Punjab Kings in Match 66 of IPL 2023. Chasing a target of 188 runs, RR showcased a brilliant batting display and reached 189/6 in 19.4 overs, propelled by an explosive innings from Shimron Hetmyer who scored 46 runs off just 28 balls.
Earlier in the match, Devdutt Padikkal (51) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (50) played crucial innings, both scoring half-centuries. Kagiso Rabada stood out for PBKS, taking two wickets with his bowling prowess.
Punjab Kings managed to post a competitive total of 188/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to a quickfire knock of 49 runs off 31 balls by Sam Curran, including four fours and two sixes. Jitesh Sharma (44) and Shahrukh Khan (41*) also contributed significant runs for Punjab. RR’s bowling department was led by Navdeep Saini, who took three wickets to put a dent in PBKS’ innings.
