Delhi Capitals (DC) with a score of 161 for the loss of 2 wickets defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) who had made a score of 160 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
This win of the Delhi Capitals took them to 12 points and they managed to stay in the muddle of the mid-table. They had kept the RR team down to a ‘par score’ of 160 runs on this sticky pitch. David Warner was the anchor and Mitchell Marsh managed to take 2 wickets, leading the chase with 89 runs off 62 balls.
The RR team had to be ‘funky’ as the Dc team set for a ‘traditional’ base. The RR team got R Ashwin as a ‘pinch’ anchor who managed to score his fifty. The big hitters Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson were not able to finish with the ‘finishing’ kick.
This was the 3rd game when the DC team was sans Prithvi Shaw, their opener.

Rare Failure of Buttler
Though Jos Buttler has been carrying the batting for the RR team, he seemed to be stifled and was taken out for his lowest score. Chetan Sakariya managed not to give him anything that he could hit. The full ball was the 5th in the 3rd over, he managed to hit this straight to mid-on. HE was dismissed for 7 off 11 balls.
The Pitch Anchor
Ashwin was promoted to number 3. He had got stuck two times but managed to come out unscathed. He managed to hit Axar Patel for a 6 and a 4 in the 6th over. Later he targeted Sakariya and Kuldeep Yadav to get a 50.
When he was dismissed he left Parag and Samson 35 balls to do the required damage.
DC strike
Sakariya and Anrich Nortje managed to bowl 2 excellent over’s and managed to take out Parag and Samson. The RR team managed to be in the game due to the batting of Devdutt Paddikkal, who came at the 4th position to bat. He made 48 runs in only 30 balls. Trent Boult and Rassie van der dussen managed only 14 runs in the last 2 overs.

The RR team ‘nearly’ had that good start that they needed. Boult managed to remove KS Bharat.
The ‘Marsh’ Show
Marsh managed to launch his first 6 off a carom ball of Ashwin. He also managed to take 2 sixes in the 7th over off Kuldeep Sen. Warner, on the other hand, was only 12 runs off 12 balls, where as Marsh had made 39 runs off 28 balls.
The asking rate reached 9.4 with 5 over’s remaining. Marsh managed to hit a 6 and a 4 to Ashwin . Ashwin’s figures were 4-0-32-2. This is what was required in the last 4 over’s. Marsh was 11 short of a hundred. Pant could manage a ‘swift’ end with 2 sixes in 4 balls. Warner finished with 49 off 40 balls.
